What to Expect during your trip
Feathers and Fins Outfitters provide professionally guided waterfowl hunts on exclusive private lands in the heart of British Columbia. Based in Vanderhoof, BC, our hunting area includes more than 20 farms and ranches over 25,000 acres of prime waterfowl habitat.
Our hunts take place in carefully scouted fields using quality blinds and professional decoy setups, providing our guests with a safe, well-organized and memorable waterfowl hunting experience.
f you would like to bring your own retriever on your guided hunt, please let us know in advance. Personal hunting dogs can only be accommodated for bookings of a full group of 6 hunters and must be approved by Feathers & Fins Outfitters prior to the hunt.

Game Birds Hotspot
Vanderhoof is the geographic centre of British Columbia – directly on the Pacific Migratory Flyway. The territory that we hunt is the first major stop for the migratory game birds on their way south, so they are easily attracted to decoys.
The geese we hunt are mainly Canada Geese and a smaller number of Specklebelly and Snow Geese. More than 150,000 of these geese migrate through this area every year.
The duck population is mainly Mallards with a mix of Northern Pintails. Most fields will be barley and oats, with some rye and peas. The blinds are either layout blinds, or A-Frame style willow blinds for good access and comfort.
